The role – what’s involved?
As part of our routine Board refresh, we are seeking up to three new Trustees with specific skills and experience. They will also have personal qualities that are a good fit with Wessex Archaeology's culture and complement the attributes of our other Trustees.
Our Trustees' role is one of governance and review and approval of strategy and key decisions, together with ensuring delivery of our charitable objectives and keeping a watchful eye on the financial performance that pays for this.
The new Trustees need to bring specific and relevant expertise in one of the following: HR and people management, or legal practice and governance or commercial services, or a combination of these.
Our Trustees are non-executives and, in keeping with charity law, they are not paid for carrying out their responsibilities but are entitled to claim proper expenses.
