The role – what’s involved? 

This is an opportunity to join our geophysicists and be part of the Geoservices Team based in Salisbury or Sheffield. This is great opportunity to advance, develop and improve your existing geophysics skills with the opportunity to work on some of the highest profile and most interesting development projects in the UK today. While primarily a survey-based role, there will be regular rotation into the office to develop skills in data processing, interpretation, and report writing. 

Main responsibilities will include: 

  • Leading teams on site. 
  • Assisting with the delivery of a comprehensive range of geophysical surveys (gradiometer, resistivity, GPR, EM, ERT). 
  • Undertaking and assisting other members of the team with project-specific research to support and inform the preparation of reports.
  • Helping to prepare client reports in accordance with relevant legislation, planning policy, and current national guidance.

Essential requirements: 

  • Educated to at least degree level in an appropriate subject or to hold demonstrable experience at an equivalent level. 
  • Experienced in leading teams to complete a range of survey techniques within deadlines.
  • An understanding of health & safety associated with fieldwork, preferably backed up with qualifications and accreditations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Works as part of a team, supports and assists others.
  • Flexible in their approach, working hours and working away from home to meet project needs and the requirements of the role.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable:  

  • Experienced in processing and quality controlling geophysical data.
  • Membership of an appropriate accredited professional body.
