Expertise

The Studio

I joined Wessex Archaeology initially in the Fieldwork department in 2017 and then moved the Studio team in 2024 as a Trainee Illustrator. My work involves creating a range of graphics and illustrations mainly for client reports.

After graduating from University of Chester with a degree in History and Archaeology, I was keen to start a career in fieldwork to get hands on with the past. I have 7 years of experience in the field working on sites ranging from the Neolithic to Industrial. After three years working in the Salisbury office, I transferred to the Sheffield office which is where I gained experience working with urban sites and loving the recording of brick walls.

The recording aspect of fieldwork was always my favourite aspect of the work, so to move into a role where I digitise such recordings is very exciting. I am looking forward to being able to explore archaeology in a new way with the Studio team, and as I have always been creative, I am interested in finding new ways to present heritage to wider audiences.

In my spare time I love nothing more than to sit with a good cuppa tea and dive into a great fantasy book. I also enjoy doing jigsaws and venturing outside to explore new places – especially those with castles.
