Expertise
Heritage ConsultancyI joined Wessex Archaeology as an International Senior Project Manager in 2024 and my role includes overseas business development and managing heritage consultancy projects for our international clients.
After graduating in archaeology in the late 1990s and spending time living and working in Spain, I began my career as a field archaeologist. Over time, I transitioned into heritage management and consultancy work, regularly interspersed with fieldwork.
I worked as a heritage consultant in London and Manchester for several years, delivering assessments and planning advice for large projects such as the London Olympic Games site and Crossrail. I also worked together with the Characterisation team at English Heritage, experimenting with new ways of heritage assessment and recording of decommissioned military sites in East Anglia, including collaborating with audio and visual artists. More recently, I studied part-time for an MA in International Heritage Management, where my thesis focused on the shifting heritage values attached to the archaeological legacy of wartime occupation in Denmark.
As an internationalist, I’m increasingly aware of the challenges facing the global landscape including societal divisions and shifting narratives about the past. I’m especially interested in how we as cultural heritage professionals can contribute to fostering a more informed and connected world.
I currently live in Aarhus with my Danish wife and our three daughters and enjoy unwinding through running, racquet sports, and geocaching with the children.
