The UK has a rich heritage and the evidence of our past is all around us. With such a wealth of heritage resource, our society faces the constant challenge of curating and conserving the significant objects and structures of the past for future generations to enjoy whilst allowing innovation and progress to take place.
The assessment and understanding of historic or archaeological materials and structures is an increasingly important and complex part of heritage science. Wessex Archaeology delivers a comprehensive range of heritage conservation services through a combination of in-house specialists and our network of external partners. We offer on-site advice, provide treatment for materials from terrestrial or marine environments, provide assistance and advice with collections care and carry out training. We are keen to promote sustainability where appropriate and can also provide volunteer sessions and community engagement programmes with this in mind.
