Sara Willis

My role as the Development Officer involves developing and delivering the Wessex Archaeology strategy to fund public benefit initiatives. I share the ambition to enrich lives through engagement with arts, heritage and culture.

I joined Wessex Archaeology in 2020 at a really exciting time; I aim to help enact Wessex Archaeology’s belief in the instrumental value of cultural heritage and the positive contribution it can make to society through community, education, health and wellbeing.

I have worked in the Arts and Heritage sector for more than 10 years, many of them spent as Development Officer at the Salisbury Museum. I have a track record of gaining support from Statutory funders, Trusts and Foundations and through Individual Giving. Relationship building is instrumental in building strong relationships with all funders and supporters.

In my spare time I enjoy walking and swimming, the walking involves being pulled along by my five-month-old puppy! My background is in graphics and art history so wherever I go a visit to a gallery or museum is always on the list.
