Tom Wells

I have worked for Wessex Archaeology since 2006, and I am based in the Salisbury office where I write archaeological reports and publications as part of the Research team.

Before joining the Research team, I spent many years excavating a wide range of archaeological sites all over the country. I subsequently worked as a heritage consultant for over five years, researching and writing reports, usually to inform the planning process. These experiences have proved very useful in my current role, analysing and reporting on the results of our fieldwork projects.

With archaeological investigations regularly generating new and sometimes unexpected discoveries, the thing that motivates me are the opportunities our work provides to continually improve our understanding of past communities and their environments. Outside of work I enjoy field archery, music and walking in the countryside with my dog.
