Sally Jones

I joined Wessex Archaeology as a Geospatial Specialist in 2021 and am based in the Bristol office. My role supports site teams with responsibilities involving processing and presenting site survey data. I am involved in organising the deployment of survey kit and producing photogrammetry models for a range of projects.

I have a long background as a field archaeologist with a particular interest in landscape analysis, deeply stratified urban archaeology and I just love a complex matrix. I have been lucky enough to have worked on some truly fantastic archaeology in the UK and Lebanon with some incredible archaeologists. The thread running through my career has always been Geospatial work as a site surveyor, Geomatics and Graphics work with AutoCAD and GIS.

Outside of work I am often found getting into trouble with my liability of a caravan, cooking over a fire with family, friends and dogs. I make clothes from fabric and wool and have many projects on the go. I recently finished a jumper that I started at university in 1992.
