Ruth Panes

I joined Wessex Archaeology in 2001 and was appointed Project Manager within fieldwork at the Salisbury office in 2015. I specialise in managing fieldwork projects within the military sector and have worked on a wide range of fieldwork projects, including several sites located within the Salisbury Plain Training Area (SPTA).

My military sector fieldwork at Salisbury and Porton Down, along with previous fieldwork experience within Wiltshire and on Salisbury Plain, has developed my knowledge of the significant prehistoric and funerary landscapes that characterise this region. I also have an interest in terrestrial survey training and have been involved in the research and development of in house software for processing GNSS and Total Station survey data.
