Rob De'athe

I am a Senior Project Manager based in Maidstone and have been an archaeologist since 2001. Working out of the South East office, I am responsible for the day to day management of archaeological projects in the field as well as being accountable for collation of data, project design, survey, report and publication writing. As part of my role, I have managed large scale housing and infrastructure projects across the South East, liaising closely with clients and contractors. My responsibilities include deputising for the Regional Manager and leading on Health and Safety.

I have particular expertise in the UK’s defence heritage and I have worked on several large scale projects including Springhead Roman town (Kent) and multi period sites such as Parsons Drove (Cambs), Cliffes End Farm, Ramsgate and Kingsmead Quarry, Horton (Berks).

I am especially interested in Palaeolithic and Mesolithic archaeology, the Iron Age and Romano-British transition period and the early Saxon occupation of Kent.
