Paolo Croce

I am a marine archaeologist based in the Salisbury office where I specialise in assessing marine and coastal material and wreck sites. Originally from Italy but now based in the UK, I have worked on a large number of high profile international projects for cultural agencies and developers alike. 

Most recent projects include: participation in the excavation of the Dutch East Indiamen Rooswijk for the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands and Historic England, the recovery of a Second World War aircraft for a windfarm development, supervision of the salvage of a 19th century paddle steamer for DP World London Gateway, and assessment of wrecks for designation for Historic England.

I work as an HSEIII-qualified diver and I am one of the SCUBA and SSD Dive Supervisors. 

I particularly enjoy historical wreck investigation and assessment, intertidal and foreshore excavations and survey work.
