Louise Tizzard

I joined Wessex Archaeology in 2006 as a marine geophysicist becoming marine geophysics manager in 2015. In my current role as Geoservices Director I oversee the marine geophysics, terrestrial geophysics, geoarchaeology and geomatics teams.

I have over 20 years of experience in marine geophysical data acquisition and interpretation, and since joining Wessex Archaeology, have gained extensive experience managing projects for offshore wind farm developments, aggregate developments and wreck site surveys. I originally studied geology and have a keen research interest in Quaternary studies and submerged prehistory, co-authoring a number of journal articles. I am also interested in developments in data management, digital data archiving and the development and use of new technologies.

I enjoy improving and developing technological processes to provide solutions and increase effectiveness and efficiency of our service.
