Expertise

Research Specialist

I joined Wessex Archaeology in 2018 as a Research Officer with more than 16 years of experience in the industry. As an Archaeology MA, History MA, and Geoarchaeology MSc qualified archaeologist, I have undertaken a broad range of British and international projects in advance of commercial and research work, both in rural and urban excavation.

My specialist area is archaeological periods, theory and practise, having directed excavations of complex sites from Neolithic to post-medieval periods across Britain. In addition, I have significant experience and specialist knowledge of zooarchaeological and osteoarchaeological finds, as well as geoarchaeological analyses and report writing.

Based in the Bristol office, I co-ordinate contributions to post-excavation projects, as well as assessing, analysing and reporting on fieldwork data. With experience in all stages of excavation, a key part of my role will be to support and assist in the development and integration of fieldwork and post-excavation processes.

Alongside commercial archaeology, I am involved in academic research, publishing much of my work in monographs and journals.
