Expertise

Geoarchaeology & Environmental

I joined Wessex in October 2019 as part of the geoarchaeology team, having completed an undergraduate degree in archaeology at the University Manchester and worked for 4 years as a field archaeologist, which provided me with wide experience of archaeology of all periods. My specialism is Palaeolithic archaeology and Pleistocene geoarchaeology. My current role principally involves being the on-site lead, directing and carrying out Palaeolithic test pits surveys and geoarchaeological borehole surveys, as well as reporting on the results. My skill set includes lithic identification of all periods, including the Palaeolithic, and deposit modelling of Quaternary datasets.

Alongside my work for Wessex, I have worked on a university led projects, ranging from Neolithic timber halls to Magdalenian hunting camps. I am an ex professional musician and I still enjoy playing and performing in my spare time. I am also an avid reader with interests ranging from Archaeology to science fiction.
