Expertise

Research Specialist

I joined the Wessex Archaeology team as a field archaeologist in 2017 and by 2020 I became an Assistant Supervisor. During my time in the field, I developed my passion for working with finds an in 2021 I moved sideways into the finds department here in Sheffield.

My role is to process all the finds that are returned to the Sheffield office, ensuring they are clean, quantified and marked ready for the analysis/reporting stage. My other roles within Wessex include being a STEM Ambassador which allows me to work with the community engagement team, helping create internal and external content for the comms team via Finds Friday, am the recycling point for Wessex Norths Tyvek tag recycling scheme, a mental health champion and Prospect representative/ Sustainability rep.

I have always had an interest in finds and both my BA Archaeology and MA Landscape Archaeology degrees at the University of Sheffield allowed me to pursue this passion further and helped me to grow into an all-round archaeologist who can work well with other departments. I also enjoy learning new skills, challenging myself and working with my colleague to create a better future for the company.

My biggest motivation is being able to share the job I love with other people and hopefully one day I can become a role model for the next generation.

When I am not at work you will find me exploring the countryside, helping toads crossroads (Toad Patrol), rescuing Swifts or painting Warhammer.
