Isobel Curwen

I am based at the Wessex Archaeology London & South East office as a Heritage Researcher, as part of the Consultancy Team.

I have previously worked in the Geomatics Team at Wessex Archaeology and am now enjoying combining both my geomatics and consultancy background. My day to day role includes researching and writing desk-based assessments and heritage statements and using GIS to analyse data and produce figures for reports. I particularly enjoy historic building recording and exploring new places throughout my work.

I have a background in field archaeology and heritage consultancy and am experienced in writing archaeological reports, carrying out historic building surveys, and undertaking archaeological research.

I also enjoy sharing my passion for archaeology with others and often work with the Community and Outreach Team to deliver talks and workshops to schools and communities.

I also have an MSc in Bioarchaeology so get particularly excited when I am able to use my osteological skills when using photogrammetry to record inhumation burials.

In my spare time I enjoy going on long cycle rides, exploring the local countryside and sampling some of the local gin!
