Expertise

Geoarchaeology & Environmental

I joined Wessex Archaeology in March 2021 as part of the geoarchaeology team based in Salisbury. With a background in Quaternary Science and archaeology, my role involves the assessment of geotechnical data and interpretation of borehole sediments to reconstruct past terrestrial and offshore environments. Other aspects of my role include preparing and contributing to client reports and undertaking geoarchaeological fieldwork and lab-based assessments.

My research interests are focused on using volcanic ash horizons to develop robust chronologies for important Middle to Late Palaeolithic archaeological sequences.

I am motivated by the opportunity to provide solutions to complex geoarchaeological challenges and to bridge the gap between the archaeological record and the evolving Quaternary landscape.

Outside of work I enjoy watercolour painting, reading historical fiction and watching motorsport racing.
