Duncan Bennett

I have over a decade of experience in IT and data teams, with a focus on product and system management, ensuring collection and use of the data we produce matches the organisation’s goals as well as the requirements of individuals. 

My role as Data and Systems Manager at Wessex Archaeology is to lead the team who operate and develop the terrestrial archaeology recording system, develop and implement data strategy and governance, and support co-ordination and delivery of digital systems across the organisation. 

I am motivated by fixing problems and creatively addressing current and future needs of the organisation, bringing together seemingly disparate disciplines or teams, understanding their requirements and creating something that helps all parties.

Outside of work I’m often found up to my elbows under a car bonnet, enjoying time with my family, or being decidedly average at one of my many and various hobbies!
