David Lakin

I joined Wessex in 2024 after more than a decade with a multi-disciplinary consultancy. Prior to that I had been a fieldwork archaeologist based largely in London and the southeast of England (with an extended stint in Yorkshire). I have been involved in assessing a range of large infrastructure projects and am particularly keen to make sure that the historic environment is properly considered when designing complicated, high-profile, schemes.

I am a keen advocate for all aspects of the past and a member of ICOMOS UK, the Roman Society, The Royal Archaeological Institute and several county archaeological societies. In my spare time I edit the journal of the Fortress Study Group and am a trustee of the Kent and Sharpshooters Yeomanry Museum.
