Expertise

Geophysics

I joined the Edinburgh office of Wessex Archaeology as a Marine Geophysicist in 2021, shortly after graduating with a Master’s in Geophysics and Geology from the University of Edinburgh. In my day-to-day role, I use software including Coda SurveyEngine, Geometrics MagPick and QPS Fledermaus to process and interpret various types of geophysical data, with a view to characterising the archaeological importance of any anomalies observed within those datasets.

I thoroughly enjoy applying the skills I gained in my degree to a discipline that focusses on safeguarding our cultural heritage, and I look forward to developing new skills such as Python programming and sub-bottom profiler data processing and interpretation.

Outside of work I can usually be found with a cup of tea, reading fantasy and science fiction novels, playing video games and occasionally creating cross-stitched or crocheted version of my favourite characters (usually whilst being distracted by my cat). I also enjoy performing arts, wandering around the hills of Edinburgh, and going to gigs.
