Expertise

Fieldwork Archaeology

I began my career working on urban excavations in London for Wessex Archaeology and after a period away, re-joined as a Senior Fieldwork Archaeologist in our Bristol office in 2014. I am currently responsible for the day to day overseeing of larger fieldwork projects, such as the recent Bath Quays and Hucclecote Excavations, as well as project-managing smaller sites.

I have directed a wide range of projects throughout England, particularly in the South West including road and rail schemes, urban and rural building projects, mineral extraction, Defence Estates, and utilities infrastructure. I also undertake historic building recording, and write client reports and publications.

My particular interest lies in deep urban stratigraphy and I have directed numerous city centre, industrial and cemetery excavations. I am also an expert in post-medieval ceramics and glass and have been widely published.
