Expertise

Manager Research Specialist

I moved into commercial archaeology in 2017 after completing my PhD thesis with the University of Exeter. I am now responsible for the delivery of all research projects created by Wessex Archaeology.

Prior to this I had a 30 year career as an aircraft engineer, lecturing aviation systems, airframes and flight physics. Along side this I lectured archaeology for the University of Bath and other higher Educational Establishments. I have held authoring commissions from The History Press, Amberley and Tempus, publishing archaeological and historical military topics.

My research aims include the development of an integrated framework of research objectives for the currently fragmented topic of aviation archaeology.

When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family and playing my extensive vinyl collection covering the late-70s and early-80s.
