I'm Lizzie Garwood, a 2D Illustrator and Animator. I love to work with bright colours and bold shapes, and to produce work that is suitable for all ages but still connects to important issues.
I studied Illustration (Animation) at Arts University Bournemouth and since graduating in 2018, I’ve won first place in the UK Manga Jiman comic competition, self-published two comics, exhibited at London MCM comic con, and have produced dozens of short animations and videos which have accumulated over three million views online. I’m also always trying to learn new skills to streamline my workflow and extend my practice- my current project is to learn more about 3D animation and experiment with mixing 2D and 3D elements.
I’m so excited to be working with Wessex Archaeology thanks to the Culture Recovery Fund for Heritage grant, and while I’m here I hope to use my skills to promote engagement with heritage and to help a new audience connect with the past. I’ll be working with the Studio team and the Education team to produce projects that are fun and exciting whilst staying archeologically accurate.
When I’m not at work I’m usually either still drawing, playing games or searching for cute dog videos online.
