On the 29 and 30 May 2018, I travelled up to Edinburgh to meet the Scottish team. The first day included introductions to the team and a progress update with Director Dan Atkinson. However, the highlight was a drive through the misty countryside to the Scottish Fisheries Museum in Anstruther where I accompanied Ben Saunders and Dan to a meeting with the Director and Curator of the Museum. The meeting included discussions of current and potential future projects with Wessex Archaeology. I had a quick opportunity to explore the impressive museum and their wonderful collection of historic vessels and ship models. The second day in Edinburgh consisted of additional meetings with Dan and Andrew Bicket relating to business development for the Coastal & Marine department before starting the return journey after lunch. All in all, it was a very beneficial visit but of course it ended too quickly!
