On Monday Louise Tizzard, senior geophysicist, gave a talk to Colchester Archaeology Group entitled Beneath the waves: investigating submerged landscapes of the southern North Sea. The talk introduced the group to marine archaeology and focused on the methods used for investigating submerged landscapes. The latest results from the aggregate extraction Area 240 project were also presented. The group then enjoyed an interesting discussion while looking at a display of selected artefacts recovered from the sea.
