We are pleased to announce that Nick Butler CMIOSH has joined Wessex Archaeology as our Occupational Health & Safety Specialist.  Nick brings with him a wealth of experience gained working both nationally and internationally in a variety of industries, which include quarrying, cement production and hazardous waste management.

This is a new role at Wessex Archaeology which will help us develop our existing Positive Working Safely Culture and achieve the recently launched ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management Standard.

Nick is based at our Salisbury office with a national remit of supporting our teams across our five other regional offices, and fieldwork sites.

As a Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner, I have been extremely fortunate in my career to have experienced a wide variety of industries in developed and emerging economies. I am very pleased to have joined the team here at Wessex Archaeology as we work towards supplying a safe, secure and environmentally positive operation for all our stake holders, and continue our journey to being the Safest Archaeological Company in the UK.

In my spare time I enjoy Britain’s Industrial Heritage, and if I am not out and about visiting Heritage centres, you will find me in my shed, tinkering with old steam engines.’
