Welcome to Charlotte McAlone, Wessex Archaeology’s newest member of staff who joins the Communications & Marketing team as a Marketing Assistant.

As Marketing Assistant, my role is to help develop and implement compelling marketing campaigns for our commercial services to the construction sector. In turn, my work helps connect and educate the public through our archaeological finds.

I graduated from the University of Reading in 2019, achieving a First-Class Honours in Business and Management. I predominantly focused my studies on Marketing, enabling me to explore Marketing strategies and the diverse traditional and digital channels available. I was fortunate to gain commercial experience with an international food manufacturer in London, where I worked as a Marketing Assistant growing and managing online sales. These experiences further developed my passion for Marketing and building relationships with all stakeholders, enabling me to make a positive contribution to the growth and success of Wessex Archaeology.

Outside of work I have a keen interest in social history, particularly visiting stately homes and gardens. I also enjoy running and going on coastal and country walks (especially when there’s a dog involved!). I’m motivated and passionate about making our rich heritage available to both local communities and the wider world.

Good luck in your role and welcome to the team Charlotte!
