Wessex Archaeology would like to thank our Chair, Anthony Fry, for his support and guidance as Chair of the Board of Trustees. During Anthony’s term of office, the organisation has taken important steps towards becoming a diverse and sustainable company able to serve clients in the UK and abroad. We are very grateful for the important contribution Anthony made to these changes and, as we move into the implementation phase of our strategy, we fully understand his decision to hand over the role and focus his attention on overseas opportunities.

At a meeting yesterday, the Board of Trustees appointed Dr. Ian Selby of the University of Plymouth as interim Chair. Ian, currently Director of Sustainable Geoscience, is a geologist by training and has senior executive experience in commercial organisations in the resources and infrastructure sectors. Ian has served as Director and Trustee of Wessex Archaeology for several years and recently joined the board of the Cefas (Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science) as a NED. Ian is looking forward to leading the Board of Trustees in its mission to develop and support the organisation’s strategic ambition.
