Our team will be joined by Kier and the Environment Agency at Wareham Town Museum on Thursday 10 April for a day of hands-on, family friendly archaeology activities linked to the exciting discoveries made during The Moors at Arne project.
During the project, incredible discoveries have been made. These include a prehistoric wooden spade which is one of the oldest and most complete wooden tools ever found in Britain, and evidence of an industrial-scale Roman pottery production site which featured on BBC Two’s Digging for Britain earlier this year.
This drop-in event is a chance to dig deeper into the project and the discoveries made and will include fun and activities for all the family, including:
- Opportunities to meet the archaeologists
- Virtual Reality Experiences that bring history to life and where you can step into the homes of Anglo-Saxon, Iron Age and Roman people
- See artefacts from The Moors at Arne digs
- Try your hand at environmental archaeology
- Explore 3D visuals and interactive displays where you can view rare items.
This is a drop-in event between 10am and 4pm and there is no need to book.
