Deposit Modelling

Wessex Archaeology is a market leader in geoarchaeological deposit modelling, and has successfully applied deposit modelling to both small and large scale sites. Our team of geoarchaeological specialists can undertake geoarchaeological desk-based assessments, collating and interpreting available subsurface data from a site and then modelling the results using industry-leading software.

The outputs of deposit modelling are often used to inform the design of borehole surveys and archaeological evaluation, with data gathered from these stages often reincorporated into the model which is then used as a tool for interpreting and presenting the results of the project as a whole.
