Expertise

Manager Fieldwork Archaeology

Based in Bristol, I have over 20 years’ experience in British and European Field Archaeology working within both commercial and research frameworks. My work involves assessing sites within the overall planning framework, using documentary and cartographic research as well as condition surveys in order to inform mitigation strategies. I am also experienced in producing Desk Based and Environmental Impact Assessments, Historic Management Plans as well as more popular publications.

Primarily an Industrial Archaeologist, I have a working knowledge of earlier periods, and a keen interest in pottery production of different ages. More recently I have specialised in Conflict Archaeology, investigating Great War sites at home and abroad as well as WWII military and civilian buildings, bunkers and landscapes.
